WhatsApp is designed to show your online status
WhatsApp is designed to show your online status to your contacts when you are actively using the app or have recently used it.
However, you can try the following options to limit the visibility of your online status:
To hide your WhatsApp online status and last seen on an Android phone
Step 1: Tap the more option and go to Setting.
Step 2: Tap Privacy > last seen. …
Step 3: Tap Nobody to hide your last seen from everyone.
Step 4: Tap “Same as last seen” for “who can see when I’m online”.

Disable read receipts:
This will prevent your contacts from seeing when you have read their messages. To do this, go to Settings > Account > Privacy and toggle off the “Read receipts” option.
Turn off your phone’s internet connection: If you turn off your phone’s internet connection, WhatsApp won’t be able to detect when you are online.
Last seen Status features
Use the “Last Seen” feature: You can control who sees your “Last Seen” status. Go to Settings > Account > Privacy > Last Seen, and then select “Nobody” to prevent anyone from seeing when you were last active. Note that you won’t be able to see other people’s last seen status if you do this.
Please keep in mind that while these options may limit the visibility of your online status, they may also impact your ability to use WhatsApp effectively.

If you want to hide your last seen status on WhatsApp, you can follow these steps:
Open WhatsApp on your phone.
Go to “Settings” by tapping the three dots in the top right corner.
Select “Account.”
Tap “Privacy.”
Scroll down to “Last Seen” and tap on it.
You will see three options: “Everyone,” “My Contacts,” and “Nobody.” Select “Nobody” to hide your last seen status from everyone.
When you hide your last seen
Note that when you hide your last seen status, you won’t be able to see other people’s last seen status either.

If you want to hide someone’s story on WhatsApp, you can follow these steps:
Open WhatsApp and go to the “Status” tab.
Find the person whose story you want to hide.
Press and hold on their status update.
Select “Mute” from the options that appear.
Choose the duration for which you want to mute their updates – 8 hours, 1 week, or “Until I turn it back on”.
Tap “OK” to confirm.
After muting someone’s status updates, their stories will no longer appear in your Status tab, and you won’t receive any notifications when they update their status. However, you will still be able to see their messages and chat with them as usual
